Purchase of used cooking oil (UCO)

The purchase of used cooking oil (UCO) is a service involving the collection of used cooking oil from restaurants, eateries, industrial kitchens, and food processing facilities for treatment, recycling, and the production of biodiesel. This activity not only helps ensure that waste oil is handled in accordance with proper procedures, contributing to environmental protection, but also reduces the risk of used cooking oil being improperly reused in food.

Used cooking oil (UCO) is purchased for the production of advanced biofuels such as HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) and SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) through hydroprocessing technology (HEFA). These are “drop-in” fuels that can directly replace fossil diesel and aviation fuel, helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote a sustainable energy transition.

All purchased UCO is strictly committed not to be reused for food or animal feed. Tight control of the feedstock stream helps eliminate risks to public health and ensures transparency in the supply chain.

FTE is committed to purchasing and using UCO strictly for the production of sustainable fuels, in compliance with traceability procedures and international standards (such as ISCC). We firmly do not participate in or facilitate any activities involving the recycling of used cooking oil back into the food market, thereby helping protect consumers and build a clean energy ecosystem.
